Despite the wording of the article, it sounds like a lawsuit regarding the yet to air US version of Kitchen Nightmares on Fox. I'm hoping that Fox doesn't turn Kitchen Nightmares into some sort of traveling version of Hell's Kitchen.

From the article it appears that it is an episode of the US version that a disgruntled former restaurant manager is seeking to stop from airing. Though, I suppose it could be an as yet to air UK episode since they ventured out of country to Brit owned restaurants.

In any event, Ramsay won a libel lawsuit against a British newspaper over older reports of faking UK episodes.

Saw an extended preview tonight for the American version during So you think you can dance and it looks bad. Nothing like the UK version at all it really looks like his Hell's Kitchen persona. That is too bad his persona on the UK version is my preferred version of him.

Damn. I was afraid of this after I viewed an earlier promo. Guess that crap is what sells stateside. And it's a real shame because he's so much more likable in the British version, and actually willing to help. :(

I'm still holding out hope that it will be like the British version, even after seeing the extended American promo. After all, while they showed him being his abrasive self, they also showed some scenes of grateful restauranteurs thanking and fawning over him after he had done them over.

Agreed. I think they could have put together a similar promo with footage from the British version.

The other day my nephew was over. He was in the other room and asked my son what all the beeps were. My son told him that I must've been watching THAT cooking show.

Which cooking show? Because Hell's Kitchen is not a cooking show.

I watched the premier episode of this (US) tonight and really enjoyed it!

Did anyone else think the head chef; Robert looked like Master Bra'tac from Stargate SG-1?

This was a fun show to watch. I'm looking forward to the next episode.

You might want to start an episode thread, so it doesn't get cluttered up in this thread talking about the UK version. Just a suggestion, take if for what it's worth.

No, thanks for the suggestion. Thought about doing that after I had already posted to this one. D'oh'!
