    Hi.

I have a R10, and I have a question about the optical audio out on it.

Does a cable exist that takes whatever plug that is on the R10 and on the other end is a S/PDIF optical digital miniplug? Is this possible?

Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.

There are adapters available. Use Google. Search for optical mini plug or something like that. They cost like 5 bucks.

As Arcady suggests, Google is your friend. The opticial mini can be converted to COAXIAL and TOSLINK, and a TOSLINK can be converted to COAXIAL. There are extension couplers, right-angle adapters, Analog to Digitial converters, 6 and 12 foot opticial cables, and opticial switches, and more.

I still don't know what to type in though. What is the plug on the DireTiVo called? I'm completely clueless on audio stuff.

Ok, I got that the optical mini plug on the system I'm plugging into, but I'm not sure what the DirecTiVo output needs to plug into it.

    Thanks for the help. :)

The digital audio output on the R10 is optical (TOSLINK). What device are you trying to connect it to?

I wonder, if this cable would work?

From the description it seems that will work just fine.

    Yes, that cable will work.

However, it is unlikely that the iPod Hi-Fi will decode 5.1 audio, so make sure you turn that off on the R10 if you happen to have any 5.1 recordings.

Why do you want a stereo that has its drivers like a foot apart? That's a horrible solution for playing stereo audio.
