I've got a couple of questions/problems i'm hoping I can get some guidance on. Here's what I what I want to do: Rip a DVD, store it on my PC (into one of my pytivo directories), pull it down to my Tivo (Series 3) and watch it in the right format. Here's what i've done: Use both dvdshrink and dvd decoder to rip a DVD into a VOB, then rename it to an mpg. Here's the problems i've had: 1. Once the movie is a mpg, if I put it into one of the pytivo directories and try to pull it down to the Tivo it transfers for about ~3 minutes before stopping - the Tivo says something about losing the signal on the channel i'm trying to record from and the file is deleted from the Tivo. 2. If I put the mpg into the Tivo Desktop directory on my PC and try to pull it down to the Tivo that way, it looks like it's going to work correctly (I let it go for about 10 minutes and it didn't have a problem) but when I start playing the video it looks like it's zoomed (cropping off part of the picture). I have this same zooming/cropping problem with the pytivo transfer as well. So the questions I have are: 1. How do I get the video to display in the correct format (non zoomed/cropped)? Things look fine if I play the DVD on my blu ray player (which does HDMI to my AVR-1911 and then out to the TV). 2. Is there a way I can fix the file so that the pytivo transfer doesn't die a couple of minutes in? I've read a couple of threads that just talk about things "working" when using dvd decrypter/dvd shrink and renaming the vob into mpg but they were several years old. Thanks.
