The series finale was great and made me cry. But I believe the notes at the end said Sam never made it back home. It was so great that he gave up his chance to go home for Al to be happy with the only wife he ever actually loved.

But I still can't exactly figure out what happened in that episode.

I read somewhere that Mirror Image was never intended to be the last episode. It was intended to be a cliffhanger but the series did not get another season so it was slightly edited to appear as a series finale

 Yikes, unicorngoddess, you might want to "spoiler-ize" that post for people who haven't seen the final episode of Quantum Leap yet. (I have, but some others have not!)

IIRC, the season finale had Gary do more of a Quantum Leap. Kind of like Gary did ok with the paper, and got a promotion to do other things. It would have been really nice if they had actually been able to tie it to QL, by having Scott Bakula or Dean Stockwell in it.

I have a SP for Early Edition. I think it's a nice, safe show I can watch with the kid. Last week there was an article in the paper (in the show) that read "fire at landing strip." Gary and the kid thought it was at an airport. It was a strip club! In another show they showed how the newspaper thing had been passed down from someone else to him.

Early Edition was an extremely sweet show without being overly saccharine and unwatchable. Generally likeable characters doing good things with a never-really-explained supernatural twist. I liked it. Didn't see the entire FIRST run, but I'm pretty sure I've seen them all on the Family Channel or other syndication.

isn't ql supposed to be airing in hd pretty soon? i think it's on uhd (whatever channel that is) ... it's the same channel that's showing knight rider and the equalizer in hi-def?

I caught my TiVo recording Early Edition as a suggestion tonight and watched it; nice show. I'm going to try to see the whole series now.

Nope, no shirtless Kyle in Pure Country. I setup a wishlist awhile back and it appeared about 6 weeks ago. I finally got around to watching it.

I'm a week behind in watching EE, but in the last episode I watched they showed Kyle Chandler getting out of the shower and walking around with just a towel around his waist for about 5 minutes.

Last nite they showed the pilot episode of Early Edition. It was really neat to see the origins of the show as well as how the characters are connected. Also, Felicity Huffman was in this episode.

I think they like to show Kyle Chandler in his underwear a lot (picking up the paper every morning) or in the shower.

Good luck. It's no longer showing in my area. :(

They are showing marathon runs of Quantum Leap every few weeks though.

I loved the concept of QL, but I found Scott Bakula to be a horribly wooden actor, which made the show almost unwatchable for me. Gotta love Dean Stockwell though.
