pyTivo Desktop won't start anymore because by pyTivo won't run. If I start it, it starts up for a few seconds and then exits. I've tried looking in the windows log to see if I can find an error message. I've tried running it from the command line, but there is no message. It just starts for a few seconds and then immediately shuts down.

Any ideas where I need to look to trouble shoot this? It was working as recently as 2 weeks ago with no problems, but I tried to use it again today and nope. I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Same problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Copying from PC to Tivo shows incorrect time lenght.

There is a log for pyTivo itself in user/appdata/roaming/pyTivo

Could your antivirus be blocking it from running? Try disabling it temporarily and see if it helps.

That usually means pyTivo is already running. Do you have another version of pyTivo running? Or maybe the last time it didn't shut down correctly. Check the task manager and see if there are any pyTivo.exe threads listed in the process tab.

Nothing. I killed them all and still had the same problem.

I took a look in the directory you posted earlier and looked at the pyTivo config file. I renamed my share from "Desktop" to something more unique and it starts up now. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Not sure why there would be a conflict, but glad you got it working
