Is that Chantix commercial new (ran during the shows first commercial break, at least on WABC) or has it been run before now? It just was narrated so much like Pushing Daisies is narrated it made me wonder if it was created specifically for airing during the show.

This show is really, really, REALLY.... twee.

    I like twee. :D

The tone reminds me forcibly of the movie Amelie.

Anna Friel is wonderful as Chuck. And if Kristen Chenoweth wants to be touched with affection, I'll be happy to comply. :)

I watched the leaked torrent a couple of weeks ago. I love this show, it is very different than a lot of stuff on tv. Very original and visually appealing.

it has a quirky, almost "Twin Peaks", appeal to it. I'm really liking this show!

    Just what constitutes touch?

Skin-to-skin? Is saran wrap enough blockage between skin to make it not a touch? It seems like there's plenty of room for Ned to get more intimate with Chuck than to avoid all touching entirely.

And what about the fruit? All cut fruit is technically dead, isn't it? And after a minute of having touched some withered fruit, shouldn't something nearby die? If he can restore withering fruit, shouldn't he be able to heal wounded people? And should restoring fruit or healing wounded people cause a nearby death or just a nearby withering/wounding?

Will they ever deal with these issues? :)

To quote Eric Forman's dad:"It's all about the rules. Without rules, we'd all be up in a tree, flinging our crap at each other."

I think it has to be the same species. When he brought his dog back the squirell died so I think when he brings back fruit a nearby plant dies. That is my guess anyway.

This was the third time I had seen the pilot and I do really like it but I hope they dial down the "whimsy" which does not seem to be Bryan Fuller's style at all.

    Love the show.

I want more Jim Dale narration.

The people that own Chronicles of Narnia books should hire him to read all seven books.

He was listed in the main credits so I am guessing he is the full time narrator.

Definitely felt the Bettlejuice vibe. I imagine that you're right about the Dead Like Me vibe. However, I was under the impression that Twin Peaks was very dark and disturbing. This show is neither.

I don't know if I _thought_ I liked it at first, or if I just _wanted_ to like it... but either way, upon further review, the more this show annoyed me. As said, it is a very 'twee' show... very, very twee.

For me, it just seemed like they were trying much, much too hard to be cute, such as with details like naming the travel place the "Boutique Travel Travel Boutique." Plus, the narrator just seemed never to shut up.... he sat there repeating what we just saw, except as if he were reading the world's most pretentious fairy tale.

There's definite upsides... I really like both of the main lead actors, and there's definite "heart" here. I just think it needs to relax a bit and just be itself, and not try and force the cuteness as much as they are.

Well Bryan Fuller the creator of this show also created "Dead Like Me" so that is understandable.

Yup, and if there's a little of the feeling you get from Men in Black, there's a reason for that too... Barry Sonnenfeld is also behind this series.

What you didn't see wasn't aliens, black suits, or red flashy things. That would be silly. Now hold still for a second while I point this blue flashy thing in your general direction.

We loved this show! We loved the premise, the look and all the characters. The over-saturated colors and cartoon-y look is very appealing and different on network TV.

Reminded me a lot of Wonderfalls (BIH Fox!), which I guess makes sense reading that Bryan Fuller is the creator of both shows, as well as Dead Like Me. All good stuff!

Lee Pace (Ned) is also from Wonderfalls. Now, if they could find a way to work in Caroline Dhavernas, I'd be happy. I guess Anna Friel (Chuck) will just have to do. ;)

Finally, any show that features PIE has got to be good! *

Hope this show has a long run! This is ABC and not Fox after all!

    * I was selected a judge at a pie baking competition last weekend. I got to try 13 different slices of PIE. Kind of a dream job, but someone had to do it! :D:D
