This has to be rigged.....2x so far this year?

I doubt the regular show has the winning both showcases that often!

i submit that is irrelevant and immaterial since these values of showcases are at least double and sometimes triple what the regular ones are. So even at 1K that is a big crapshoot.

I think it's easier to guess these larger showcases though.

More likely, the just don't show the ones taped where they don't get a big winner.

    i dont see how.

if you have a car, trip to italy, camper, jewelry etc those are bigger ticket items which , i think, are much harder to pin down prices and add them all together in a 1 minute timespan.

and now that i think about it, it's amazing to accurately price out things that have so many variables and options and come even within 1K each much less in total.

Incorrect, because the CBS ticket site clearly states which tapings are the MDS ones, so it's not like they keep taping Million Dollar shows until someone wins big.

I think it's more difficult to guess the large showcases. On something like the showcase where you get two of everything, if the contestant thinks a Lincoln MKZ is $35,000 then it doubles the error when they're wrong. The campers and boats seem almost impossible to value in my opinion, and that goes for the daytime show as well.

I thought this million dollar win was a lot more plausible than the last one. I did think the possibility of getting a million in the Plinko game was too far fetched though. There are 9 Plinko slots and the contestant needs to hit the middle slot three times in a row, just to get the golden chip. If I can recall from my painful statistics classes, the chance of that is about 0.14%, or about 1 out of 700. Then to get the golden chip in the same slot the overall odds drop down to 0.0152% or about 1 in 6600. I guess that is better than lottery odds, but still pretty crazy.

i dont get all the fuss about plinko anyway. Even on a normal day it just seems impossible to win. You have better odds with the fuzzy dice roll or dollar car game i'd think

The problem is, if they don't show an episode, they don't give out the prizes (ask anybody who thought they were a big winner on Fox's The Rich List about that), and there's no way TPIR gets away with a stunt like that.

HUH? I never heard that. Is this on a list of rules somewhere? what a bummer to win but if it's not on tv you get nothing. i thought bob barker was more generous

Has nothing to do with Bob Barker. It's just the accepted rules of all game shows, and is in the contracts that contestants (and potential contestants) sign. If the show doesn't air, there is no ad revenue to support it, and therefore no money to pay for prizes. Contestants on game shows never get their money until after their episode airs, and if it doesn't air, they get nothing.

I have never heard it either. I have been doing some searching and can't find out if it is true or not. I'm having a hard time believing it is true.

As far as I know, there has never been an unaired episode of "The Price Is Right."
