The official word from Fox, ABC and CBS at least is 15 minutes.

However, if Bush's speech goes on for 16 minutes, they're not about to cut him off.

    I padded 30 minutes...

Don't forget the ever-present analysis afterwards... that could take another 15-30 minutes.

Interestingly enough, I had an SP for America's Got Talent. I padded it, but when I started to watch it, they said right at the beginning that they compressed the show into 45 minutes (it was supposed to be live). There was no need to pad. So any of you who watch AGT but forgot to pad, don't worry - you didn't lose anything.

had no clue till it was too late, and I missed the last 15 minutes of Criminal Minds. So ticked at the moment as I wasn't around the TV all night.

In the west coast feed, the episode lasted the full hour (since the speech was at 6 PM). Jerry mentioned that it was a "tight squeeze" or something, but I didn't notice which parts were added to stretch it out.

How long were the "clips" they showed of each finalist? NBC could have added three minutes to each of them, although I don't think they lasted that long.

Then again, for all I know, they added 15 minutes of commercials.
