So my Premiere XL died, but I have a working Premiere (non-XL). Is there anything I can do to build a new XL drive?

I don't care about the recordings, I just want to get my XL working again.

    Any advice?

Do you know for an absolute, incontestible fact that it's the drive?

    If so, how?

I have one you can buy with a 2TB drive. This way you'll have all the parts you need for troubleshooting... Or you can use your current one for spare parts :)

You will need a drive with the PXL image - you cannot use an image from a regular Premiere. Can't remember what happens when you do.

Will probably be cheaper to buy a new, regular Premiere and upgrade it yourself using the Comer tool.

There is no longer any advantage to owing a PXL vs. a base Premiere.

    Bummer, okay thanks.

(And I know its the drive because I did a WD Diag on it, and it hangs. I could spinrite it I suppose, but it's probably not worth it.)
