So, like many others here, I have a Premiere TCD746320 with lifetime service that seems to have a dead HDD.

I've located the thread with steps for expanding an image up to 8TB and have that saved. 8TB Premiere

I understand that I need to request a copy of the image and DVDBars from a member of this forum to make this project work.

My hang up at this point in the process is picking the proper HDD. Reading through the threads, it looks like CMR and true 5400RPM are the keys.

It looks like the 2TB is safe to use, but I would prefer the 8TB if possible. If not, the 4TB EFZX is vastly cheaper and claims to be the same specs as the EFRX, but everything I found so far on the forum specifies EFRX specifically. That said, the posts are a bit older, so I was hoping for a gut check on the suitability of the below options. Thanks very much in advance.

    2TB WD20EFRX (appears to be CMR and 5400RPM) https://shop.westerndigital.com/products/outlet/internal-drives/wd-red-plus-sata-3-5-hdd#WD20EFRX

    **4TB WD40EFRX (CMR 5400RPM??) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EHBERSE/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=AZQ8W1F35YIO7&th=1

    **4TB WD40EFZX (CMR 5400RPM??) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08VH8C3WZ/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1

    **8TB WD80EFAX (CMR 5400RPM??) https://shop.westerndigital.com/products/outlet/internal-drives/wd-red-plus-sata-3-5-hdd#WD80EFAX
Also listed on Amazon showing CMR and 7200RPM: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08TZT47VT/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1

Many thanks for that insight, @ThAbtO, just received my 8TB WD Red this evening.

@ggieseke would you be able to please send me an image for my TCD746320? The original HDD is dead and I am replacing with an 8TB per the thread above if that makes any difference on the needed image. Thanks much all!

4TB image sent. That should get you most of the way through step 1 in the 8TB Premiere thread.
