"Well, that's it? That's the ending?"

That was a pretty weird sequence before the explosion. The girls coming out of the bus...!

That one took me a second. I'd forgotten the bus driver was a pedophile. Damn!

Great finale. Great season. I also loved their musical choices for this episode. Talking Preacher covered a lot of the questions asked here.

I chuckled when "God" picked his nose. Jesse noticed that too.

I noticed if you switch the syllables in "Annville," you get "villain."

Back when I was studying radio/TV/film in college, I could have written a whole paper based on that concept.

And add an I and get rid of a N and a E....seems like a stretch.

To be fair, he was talking syllables, not letters.

But I agree, a bit of a stretch. Then again, a lot of post-modern scholarship is based on taking puns literally. ;)

Finished the last episode last night. Wasn't expecting the town to go away, I figured the show revolved around that town, but I guess the meat of the story is them driving around looking for God.

Anyway, I think I like the show, it was a little too weird in the beginning, but as story lines and characters were fleshed out it became easier to follow.

Major WTF with a lot of the things that happened this season, but I imagine it would make more sense if I had read the comics. :p

Perhaps, although I am given to understand that this season is a prequel to the events portrayed in the comics.

I've been talking to someone who read the comics, and I don't think it could be called a prequel, either. It is more of a remake. Many things changed from the comics. The episode where the angels went to hell had one of them whining about leaving his comics behind. This was targeted to comic book readers.

I have to admit that my first thought to "We're going to go find God" was "How?". You think there'll be a guy in a long white flowing robe sitting in a diner somewhere glowing? Even so, there's an awful lot of Diners in America. Picking a random direction and hoping does not seem like a strategy for success.

Preacher does have Genesis, so that might be made to help in the search for God. Also, there is something special about Preacher -- he attracted Genesis but more importantly, he RE-attracted Genesis, and he is able to withstand it without blowing up. It seems certain supernatural beings find Preacher highly attractive. That seems like a good quality for a God-searcher to have.

Too bad he left the heaven phone to be blown up. Even if God is not in heaven, it might have been useful to call up and see if there were any clues, or if anyone wants to help with the search.

This is a Season 1 thread. You should not be talking about 2nd season episodes here.
