Watched the 1st 2 episodes. Being a fan of the original, I was prepared to dislike the new cast as just pretty faces but Ross and his loves were decent. I think that several of the secondary characters weren't as well acted as they were the old show. The biggest deficiency is that the story line is too compressed with far fewer episodes. Hurts character development too. The scenery is excellent in HDTV. The NETFLIX stream of the original has horrible picture quality.

I too am a fan of the original but this one is lacking IMHO. It's become a Harlequin Romance novel. It's early but the bodices just can't wait to be ripped. I'm also tired of that poor horse riding across the landscape scene about every 2 minutes. It is PBS, so I'll stick with it a bit longer but I really can't recommend it. At least not to males. :)

    The scenery is beautiful.

I have seen the whole series an enjoyed it. The BBC. Plan on a ongoing series. Look forward too next year.
