I just submitted a ticket to Pluto now, so we'll see if they are more responsive.
Two and half weeks later, the answer is "no".
Same problem on my Bolt. PlutoTV app starts and just stays on the loading screen with a yellow loading bar endlessly moving to the right. The app worked perfectly for a few weeks when they first push it. FWIW, I'v tried a variety of additional things: Tried unchecking, rebooting, and rechecking the app. I tried setting static IP addresses. I also tried configuring the firewall to expose the Bolt's IP address directly to the internet (so there are no port/TCP/UDP firewall blocking issues) to rule out any network issue. I also have a Tivo case open for like 3 months now. The only thing that's going to fix this is a software update. In any case, it would be nice if Tivo would at least give a status of the fix.
I'm kind of wondering if a clean-and-delete-everything will fix this even if only temporarily, but that's way too disruptive.
Same issue here on a Tivo Roamio. I was going to use the Pluto TV app to try to get Newsmax (Comcast includes it in the channel list but I found out it's an "IP only" channel so Tivos won't receive it) but the Pluto TV app just hangs on loading when it's clicked. Just rebooted the Roamio and still no joy. Would be nice if Tivo would add the Xfinity Stream app but I know that won't happen. Maybe Tivo could add a Newsmax app? They have an HSN app.
My Roamio OTA hung loading Pluto TV too. I went in to Manage Apps and unchecked all of the apps and restarted my Tivo. No more Pluto TV stuck loading and I can watch all my recorded shows.
I have a TiVo Roamio OTA. I love this box (aside from the remote control's rounded bottom rolling off the recliner arm)!
It's now March 2021 and I have the same problem problem getting PlutoTV app to fully complete connection. It gets as far as the never-ending yellow progress bar scrolling over and over.
I followed someone else's suggestion to use the VIEWed app, and enter the URL: Pluto.TV - as he found there's no means to click on the PlutoTV "SUBMIT" button.
At one point when trying with the VIEWed app, an error message displayed, reporting a PlutoTV 'Timeout' (along with more details).
We have a OnePass for "Midsummer Murders", which did load one episode on Tubi, and many, many more episodes shown as available for streaming from PlutoTV, but PlutoTV never completes connecting.
One has to wonder if the failure of the PlutoTV app to work is a plot to get us to purchase a TiVo4K streaming device??
More like TiVO has totally forgotten the core ecosystem and has no one assigned to maintenance and development. I'm recommending to you and everyone else to switch to Channels DVR, which I am in the midst of. The process of creating links to individual programs like "Midsummer Murders" is long and tedious, but once it is done everything is flawless. Also, imagine not only having Pluto in the guide, but limiting the channels you see and being able to record those programs or interact with them live... that is the reality at Channels right now (with a bit of work to set up, nothing out of the box).
Yea right TIVO, based on your terrible customer service it really makes me want to
purchase a TiVo4K streaming device?
I am also having this issue on my Roamio. I thought it was because I changed the email address associated with my Pluto account on their web site, but there isn't any place for Pluto credentials on the Tivo app. I guess this is still broken for everyone else.
