Advertisements I've been dealing with this problem off and on for about a month. I think one major issue is that the software only allows one computer to be linked to your account? I'm using the Plus version BTW. I constantly would get the Unable to link to your tivo account error message. After reading these posts I tried something that allowed me to get an error message saying that the account was linked to a different computer and it asked me if I'd like to link to this one instead. To get to that point, I had to: Check the firewall settings on the computer I was trying to link. It had plenty of exceptions for the Tivo Desktop. I then disabled my Router's firewall for just that PC. I then tried to link, (and the server was "Paused" at the time.) That's when I got the message about a prior linked PC. I'm now connected fine and am about to try turning the firewall back on now that the machine is linked. It may turn out that I have to configure the router later to continue to allow connection. I doubt it, but I'll find out.... P.S. Just realized. Maybe when people have called support and somehow things got fixed, perhaps someone cleared their account on the server and it just assumed this was the first time the machine was linking?
