"Please check the TiVo Server application on your computer"

    I just downloaded TiVo Desktop and was excited to be able to play my music library through my surround system. I tried to add my "My Music" folder to the TiVo server, and when I went to try to play it from the TiVo, I got the message "An error occurred on the server. Please check the TiVo Server application on your computer." I tried starting and stopping the TiVo server on my computer several times, but kept getting the same message. I then tried adding the individual folders inside the My Music folder to TiVo Desktop, and it worked perfectly. Problem is, I now have to pick a particular artist I want to listen to, and can't just shuffle through my entire library.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Perhaps you have too many songs in the My Music folder for TiVo Desktop to handle. You might try pyTivo.
