    Hi,

I just bought a DVR-57H and I have no idea on how to connect it to my Direct TV. So far, I connect a coax cable from the multiswitch to the coax input of the Pioneer DVR-57H. I also connect a yellow, red and white RCA-jacks from the Video-1 output of the Direct TV DVR to the video 1 of the Pioneer DVR-57H.

Will you please help me here?

    Thanks

Do NOT connect the satellite coax cable to your Pioneer DVD Recorder. It cannot receive any satellite channels. Instead, connect one set of the DirecTV's DVR audio/video outputs to matching inputs on the Pioneer. Set the Pioneer to view/record from that input and you're good to go. Of course, you'll also need to connect the Pioneer's AV Output to a matching Input on your TV and/or AV Surround Receiver.

    Thanks a million LitzDog911,

There is no Power On/Off button on the TiVo remote, there is no Input button on the TiVo remote to select the different inputs on the Pioneer DVR. There is, however an input button to select input for the TV (on the last row right on the TiVo remote).

The Pioneer TiVo DVR says: "Searching for signal on Antenna In" and I do not know how to change it to Video In!

On the TiVo remote there are 2 blue Menu buttons: "Top menu and Menu" buttons but a "bang" sound is heard when either is pushed.

I bought this unit used, and I am afraid to clear everything, so I won't lose or delete the lifetime subscription it came with.

    Thanks again,

    Mark

Do not enter guided setup until you you have forced the machine to call home. You could be stuck there forever! Once you are sure it can communicate home you can do the setup for your provider.

    Thanks Rob,

I have no idea what you mean by " Force the machine to call home"

Is there a link where I can download the DVR-57H owner's manual?

    Thanks

    Thanks Litzdog911,

Do you or anyone here has a PDF Owner's Manual for the Pioneer DVR-57H?
Or knows where I can buy one or download one?

    Thanks

You also need an I/R cable to change the channels on the satellite receiver from the Tivo. You can't watch another channel while the Tivo is recording.

If you are asking how to change the video input the TiVo is looking for, you rerun Guided Setup.

I now have video only through S-Video, but no audio obviously.

I then try Video1 and Video2 input. I have nothing, no video no audio. It is not a connection problem. It is most likely a menu set up problem. I do not know where to go in the TiVo menu to set up Audio, to make sure I am getting Audio-in and Video-in through Video1 and/or Video 2. How do I switch from video1 input to Video2 input to s-video and to Ant1 on this Pioneer TiVo-DVR

    Thanks again

Do you have the separate audio input cables run between the DirecTV box and the TiVo? These would be the red and white connections.

    Thanks Litzdog and Steve.

I found the problem. The unit seems to have been damaged during shipping and the Video1/2 block was broken, and I had to remove everything from the DVR and repair the Main Board.
