The only time I liked Piers is when he give it to Omarosa.

Glad CNN told him he was a failure after taking over for Larry King!

CNN should get Alec Baldwin for that 9 pm slot. I'd watch that!

Please no, we thought we'd got rid of him and Simon Cowell for good and now you're sending them both back at the same time. And I thought we were all friends? :)

Let Australia have him - and he can take Rolf and Dame Edna back there with him!

Rolf may have trouble leaving the country soon, unless of course we go back to shipping our convicts* to Oz!

*innocent until proven guilty of course

He's committed enough crimes against humanity to be deported without the current problems. Just let him go and inflict his pain on his countrymen. We'll pardon him if he agrees never to come back!

I watched a few of the shows. Meh. I guess Buy USA should apply to political talk shows.

I think the main problem was, he was OK interviewing celebrities, but he seemed totally out of place when it came time to do hard/breaking news stories.

So, who replaces him? My first thought was Ryan Seacrest, but (a) I don't see Seacrest doing any better on real news, and (b) what would they do on American Idol live show nights?

Sorry mate, we'd send you Bieber too if we could. :)

(though I haven't given up hope that we'll deport him back to Canada.)

There's a discussion in the CNN Group on Facebook wondering who will take over the 9PM slot. A fair number of folks (and these are former and present CNN staffers) think Jeff Zucker might be courting Jay Leno.

There is also speculation that this may be why CNN has been laying off so many people lately. Could this be an attempt at "freeing up" budget space for Leno's staff?

They have also come up with the idea of placing some sort of show hosted by Anderson Cooper in the 9PM slot, perhaps an interview show a la Larry King.

    Interesting to talk about, though.

MSNBC, who shamefully apologized profusely to FOXnews about a tweet about the multiracial Cheerios Superbowl ad (correctly forecasting that extreme right-wingers would be up in arms about it), does not have the cojones to offer anything that might be controversial in the most minimal sense. Baldwin only had about one episode air on MSNBC before they peed their pants and cancelled his show because he was reported to have cursed at a paparazzi who was harassing him on the streets on NYC.

If CNN could put Piers on the air, they should relish the opportunity to put Baldwin back on the air.
