What a great pairing with Mythbusters. Entertaining, funny, and informative. Only thing I fear is this show will cannibalize all the myths from Mythbusters.

I was able to easily figure out the first week's Lie.
The camera footage was just too good for security, and the "zookeeper" was such a horrible actor during the interview.

Yeah - interesting show. I agree that the lie in the first episode was way too easy to figure out. I'll definitely keep watching.

Definitely keeping my SP. Not sure how long they can make it interesting, but worth watching for now.

The first episode did the "will cursing help manage pain" that Mythbusters already tested. Pretty much an identical testing protocol as well.

    I was fooled by the
    alligator thing.
I guess I was thinking too much about the claim itself and wasn't paying enough attention to the presentation of each claim (like the acting, etc)

i figured it out a different way.
The latch on the gate holding the lion in was just a simple gravity latch. No way in hell would a lion gate have a simple gravity latch.

The thread title reads as if Penn and Teller actually tell a lie. Thought it worth noting.

That's the name of the show. And they do tell a lie---they tell one fake story along with 4 or 5 real ones. You have to pick out the phony.

Yes, I realize that, but I'm not sure others would at first glance. No biggie, of course.

That's what I thought too. I had no idea they had a new show. I'll have to look that up. It sounds good. :)

I found the lie in this weeks episode, of the 2 clues that they pointed out one was brutally obvious to me, and there was some more stuff that added to my conviction.

although the actual event they describe may not have actually taken place, I wonder if they are saying that
    turbine engines cant extinguish fires
although they've been used for that in recent years.

Me too. I love Penn and Teller, and like Mythbuters quite a bit. This show has fail written all over it. I couldn't make it through the first Episode.

I thought it was fairly dumb.. even watching faster than realtime with sound.. Though I'll still keep watching, at least for a while. Even dumb Penn & Teller is usually entertaining.. (Though I've not watched most of BS -- a lot of it was preaching to the choir, plus an episode or two that got me annoyed.. I forget if it was secondhand smoke or bottled water -- on one of them, they took the totally stupid side -- that it's not unhealthy or that it's not a waste of money, respectively.)

I didn't hate it. Made for some good background noise while I'm on the laptop. I'm gonna give it a couple of more chances. I think it has potential.

So there 5 or 6 timelines and in each one a different story is the fake one.
