I have non-HDTV Directv/Tivo unit (getting locals through it,) an OTA and a TV with a built in HDTV tuner. To get an HDTV signal to my TV, I have to hook the OTA directly to the TV or...can I wire the OTA to the Directv/Tivo unit? Thanks.

I read several forums before posting. Some questions/answers were close but not the same, at least that I could find..

I would have the antenna go directly to the TV.

The directv tivo unit won't accept signals from an antenna, only from a directv signal.

You could pass the OTA thru the DirecTV, but it would have to be put into standby to allow the pass thru. So, connect the OTA directly to the TV.
