I'm not positive, but I think it was the TV Talk Machine with Tim Goodman and Jason Snell.

Curious to hear what you think of the third episode.

Specifically, there were 12 Constitution Class Heavy Cruisers in Starfleet during TOS.
(Although that number would of course fluctuate due to ships being destroyed and new construction.)

There were numerous other ships in Starfleet though.

And there are way more ships in the TNG universe. (Why do people compare Orville to TOS and not TNG? It's far closer to TNG during the Roddenberry years).

Hell, near the end of the TNG days, the concept of "uniform" seemed rather loose. (If TNG, DS9 and VOY are all close together in years, why does everyone have a different uniform?).

Then again, there was the whole Deanna Troi uniform thing, too...

I'm just glad they didn't have a character with a crippling drinking problem done just for laughs, yet.;)

    TAsunder Debates Ghee vs Gi

I watched it last night and just went through the comments. I kind of wonder if I literally watched a different show. I expected everyone to blast the visuals. Instead all I read are compliments. WHA?! I had to pause it repeatedly to check if it was hand-drawn animation numerous times. Honestly I'm still not sure. Other scenes (that didn't look hand-drawn) were pretty atrocious as well. I can understand not agreeing with the overall opinion of the show but this truly baffles me. I thought the visual effects at times were as bad as a SyFy movie about a mutant killer gecko or something.

Some scenes were fine. Some, however, were so bad that I really honestly wonder if I watched a different version or if the new Apple TV OS somehow cartoonifies things instead of pixelating?

Anyway the episode was not so good, but I gave it a pass because they had to do setup while also having a plot. The plot ended up being paper thin, cheesy, and kind of stupid but it was also given very little time and it is a pilot so it gets a pass.

In HD, the uniforms looked pretty poorly made. Like bad Cosplay. I wondered if this is how the TNG uniforms would look in HD?

Obviously we are not meant to think too much about it but the seed thing made me wonder how seeds grow. I had assumed that roots begin growing down from the seed so wouldn't they have destroyed the device? Also, the field only aged the doctors face seemingly yet the tree grew all the way. So did the beam extend hundreds of feet up?

I'm not complaining just to whine and complain
I'm complaining because I wanted a good show and didn't get one
and I gave specific example of what was wrong

while you may be satisfied with bad writing I am not

There are always folks who will presume that if people disagree with them then that means that those other people are wrong; the willingness to acknowledge that reasonable people could possibly disagree with them seems beyond their willingness or capability. The reality is that subjective determinations like this are, well, subjective, and claims of objective standing for personal opinions such as these is just another flavor of incapability.
