Which one of those shows has the greatest promise of being a keeper?

As far as their premises, I think Grimm sounds better. I may check out both, but I'm running out of TV watching time.

Once Upon a Time has Jane Espenson (Former Buffy writer) and Damon Lindelof (Lost Writer/Producer) behind it, so it can't totally suck.

Grimm also has David Greenwalt, another Whedon alum (Buffy, Angel and a slew of other shows) producing. Though he's never worked on a big "hit" since Angel.

I have SPs set for both. Though from the little I've seen, Grimm looks a bit more interesting.

I don't think either will make the cut. But I'm giving Grimm a shot. The other one looks too stupid.

I'll have to go check these out. Judging from the titles can we assume they both have something to do with fairy tales? I keep seeing them mentioned together.

I have both of these shows set to record on my DVR. I've only seen like a 5 or 10 second advertisement for Once Upon a Time. I've seen nothing of Grimm.

From the commercials (what are those?), Once seems pretty much a fantasy drama---think Desperate Housewives with a little magic.

Grimm seems to be a police drama with supernatural elements (Prime Suspect meets Supernatural?)

From that description, I'll be far more likely to stick with Grimm.

That was my impression (great references BTW)..so it seems Grimm may be better.
    Any leaked pilot watchers?

Once is definitely a fantasy drama, although the "Desperate Housewives with a little magic" part seems pretty far off. I'm not sure there is a good parallel for the show, though, which in my book is always a plus because it means they're not rehashing something that's been done before. It seems to be a show where they pretty equally intersperse fantasy elements into the real world ones.

I think your description of Grimm appears to be pretty dead on. Everything I read and see reminds me of Supernatural redux.

Hasn't the main premise of Grimm already been on TV in an episode of Supernatural?

I recall seeing the Winchesters chase down Fairy Tale monsters.

I like the premise of Grimm better than Once Upon a Time, but don't hold much hope any of them survive past Thanksgiving let alone Christmas.

SP's set for both and we'll see what happens.

NBC put the pilot on the web. You have to follow @NBCGrimm on Twitter and get a code and then go to; GrimmSneakPeek.com

Just swap out vampires and werewolves with fairy tale characters.

I think so. It's hard to tell from the commercial. In any case, I definitely plan to give it a shot. In has Jennifer Morrison and Ginnifer Goodwin, so it can't be all bad...

When I was describing them to my wife I used the Desperate Housewives analogy as well.
But my take on Grimm was Law & Order: NeverNeverLand! (chung-chung)

Grimm seems more sustainable as a series, but both look like they are headed straight to the cancel pile.

Grimm is on NBC - even their best shows get terrible ratings!

Gotta' wait and check them out before I rush to judgement.

Just like picking between "Bewitched" or "I Dream of Jeannie", or between "The Munsters" or "The Addams Family", I'll choose to watch both until something compels me to do otherwise.

    :)
