Didn't they say earlier he was cheating up a storm and everything was rented. He put on the fake image like everybody else in this show.

They said that they had an open relationship. When in Vegas with tiger cubs, they brought other women into bed with them. Jeff's wife might not care what he's up to, but him doing this with his very pregnant wife sitting next to him was something.

Seemed like a theme in this show. These big cat people have young, pretty people hanging off their every word and putting up with any kind of non-sense.

I believe they said on the Netflix show that it was something like $300 to $600.

But in the Post article I linked, it says this about the cost:
“On good days, Passage told The Post, 200 families would come to the park, and 75 percent of them paid $45 to $55 for short “playtimes” with tiger cubs.”

The $300-$600 are the prices for Doc Antle's place in Myrtle Beach , you can see the prices here - myrtlebeachsafari.com
The $45-$55 is for Joe Exotics/Jeff Lowes place in OK

Ive actually been to Doc Antle's place in Myrtle Beach with my wife. Took her there for her 40th birthday. It wasn't that much ($655) but I think we paid about $400/person to get in. It was the last show they were doing that year tho. We went in late October.

Right off the bat you get a very culty vibe from everyone who works there and we even talked about it after we left the park that day. The girls (and thats about all that works there) worship that guy.

It was pretty much as they billed it tho. You get to play with tiger cubs and wolf pups, hold monkeys, pose with tigers and ligers, etc. We got to feed Doc's elephant that he really does ride to the compound every day. They had some other stuff we didnt really get to see. I saw an orangutan they had in some elaborate habitat, other tigers in very large enclosures. It didnt really look inhumane in any way but again, you could just tell it was cultish. They did (according to my wife) make some great hummis and I discovered mexican hot chocolate that they served there so there is that. I forget what they served for lunch but it was decent. We had to be there by 8AM and it was after 5 when we got out of there.

I finished watching this. The show is...crazy. How couldn't this show be a hit. Money, sex, drugs, murder, and the big rich wierd-os with huge egos were only costars; A very unhealth hate was the star of this show.

I wonder if Joe is getting any of this success? Money? I know many people know who he is now. Even if it's bad, I think Joe would still like it.

And these guys/woman with big cats all seem to be opportunist, looking to take advantage of people.

    The show is crazy.

I binged this over the weekend, mostly because everyone was talking about it, as this is the type of show I normally don't watch (I am not a fan of these types of "reality shows"). These were all a bunch of low life losers, in the best Jerry Springer, sense of the word. I hated them all. I felt dirty watching it the whole time. Big waste of time to give these types of people any viewership at all.

Anyway, I remember driving to various places and coming across signs for these types of zoos, and they always had a sleezy feel to them. I'll stick to the big zoos, like San Diego, Bronx and the city run ones as well. I've never had a huge desire to pet a wild animal like that. I don't get the thrill.

Not a fan of the guy but Doc Antle's place is not sleezy whatsoever other than the cultish vibe you get. Its very professionally run, immaculately clean and they do a very good job of discussing the animals and what kind of things theyve put in place for them.

For example, tigers need to hunt and chase prey so they came up with this crazy tether setup that will yank a hunk of meat about 30 MPH across maybe a 100 yard open field. Standing on the balcony watching the tigers chase this meat, you can feel the vibration from their feet hitting the ground.

Other than Doc being a cult leader and charging an astronomical amount of money to get you through the door, it was a very well run operation. They also dont tell you in The Tiger King that he has a facility in Africa as well where you can go for two weeks and be taken on private safaris (Not for hunting for viewing the animals in nature).

    Now Joe Exotic, well.. meth.

And Carole Baskin.. we all know she killed her husband. Funny thing I read a day or two ago about her. She had a boyfriend in between her "missing husband" and her new husband and that boyfriend also took out a restraining order because he feared for his life. Maybe Carole Baskin killed Jeffrey Epstein.

No matter how professional Doc's zoo was, he still bred tiger cubs so people could have their pictures taken with then, and then euthanized the tigers once their usefulness ran out. At least at the end of the Netflix series, they said they raided his zoo for for that reason. I know when watching the show I wondered how they could have so many young tigers, and where they went as adults.

While I know shows like this can be edited to produce a story, but I can't remember ever seeing a veterinarian shown at any of the Zoos. Who was looking after the cats and other animals medically?

And, Carol is just as guilty as the rest of them. She may have started with good intentions, but now it is all about her.

I saw an Ask Me Anything on Reddit last week that claimed to be a former volunteer at Carol Baskin's Big Cat Rescue. She claimed that the rescue was a good place for the cats. That Carol was not like the other places. Of course, it could have just been Carol. :)

During one of the episodes I remember thinking that the editors gave us a clue when they interviewed Doc and there was some mention of older tigers and then a shot of that huge alligator walking back into the water....

I figured the older tigers solved some of the issue of feeding the younger tigers.

I finished watching this the other day and it just left me wondering why I wasted the time watching it. I stopped watching Ice Road Truckers and The Deadliest Catch because they were focusing on people that were total losers. It was like watching a train wreck in progress. You just knew things were going to end badly for them yet they were always utterly clueless as to why.
