    I just got 9.1 this morning, so I haven't played around much. However, I was specifically looking to pare down some of my auto record wishlists for my beloved sports teams, in which I create two in order to catch the game in high def when available. I have been doing this by creating one wish list for example CUBS Sports/Sports Event, and another wishlist with higher priority as CUBS HD/Sports/Sports Event. I tried to create one wishlist that covered both, with no luck. Has anyone had any luck in creating a high def preferred, but not required wishlist? This would actually be a nice feature for all of my auto record wishlists, but not quite as imparative as with the sports.

    Keyword = PILOT

    You might get a few straggler shows, but other than that you should be OK.

    Unfortunately, Tivo has yet to implement the pilot / premiere recording feature that TivoShannon advertised in email to all customers. [She later recanted and apologized.] This is one of the last remaining features available only on the DirecTV Tivos.

    As a workaround, many thought to create a keyword wishlist for "2007 pilot" which would grab the new 2007 shows without most of the stragglers, but unfortunately, keywords with years have been bugged on the Tivo for a long time.

    Many first episodes of shows are named "pilot" but some aren't.

    The new series "Moonlight" is an example

    Not to mention you would be recording shows about airplane pilots.

    I thought I had read on here before about using the word "Premiere" or something like that?

    With 9.1, you can exclude words. You could exclude the the words "airplane" and "plane." Of course, there is still no way to differentiate past pilots and premiers from 2007 pilots and premiers because year searches are broken.

    You are right that wouldn't help for Moonlight, which had neither premier nor pilot in the description.

    I haven't tried it yet, but if you can exclude categories too, excluding "Movies" should help minimize the false positives from a "pilot" keyword WishList.

    Is there a way to exclude repeats, other than within an autorecord WishList?

    I'm pretty sure you can't exclude (or for that matter make optional) a category. That would resolve the issue I had in the original post. You could make the wishlist with HD being optional.

    I haven't checked out the new wishlists, but I have a question: right now, I have four manual Season Passes set to record Comedy Central from 11:00 PM to 11:30 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday respectively. I have to do this because Comedy Central is notoriously unreliable with its program descriptions and if I set up a regular Season Pass, I'd get a whole bunch of extra airings, when all I really want are the episodes that air between 11:00 and 11:30 Mon.-Thur. Is there an easier way to set that up using the new wishlists?

    If you are concerned about extra airings of the same show due to unreliable program information on Comedy Central, I'm not sure how the improved wishlist would help.

    I have been using "pilot" as a keyword for years when the new fall season starts. My experience is that if you use "first run only" you don't get pilots from past years. I did always get military type shows which involved aircraft and pilots and a tennis tournament sponsered by "Pilot Pen". Now with the improved wishlist, I excluded things such as airplane, plane, tennis and even the phrase "a pilot" which showed up in a JAG episode and get much better results.
