MacGyver & Lethal Weapon look like the normal *new fall shows* that go nowhere.
Reviews I've read actually thought "Lethal Weapon" was not as bad as they'd feared (a low bar, but still...) I guess we'll find out tomorrow.
No one I read had anything good to say about MacGyver. I didn't watch the first one and I don't expect I'll watch this one.
These are the one's I plan on taking a look at:
Designated Survivor (ABC)
Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (BBCA)
'Graves' - Epix channel
Starts October 16.
The first episode is available via magic.
i'll let Lethal weapon stack up it may devolve into 'sxplosion of the week but the first ep wasn't horrible-
macgyver SP was cancelled
this is what i put together for my site;
ABC Designated Survivor A Like most disaster flix the first episode was great- if they can keep it up is the big question.
NBC Good Place B Cute & fluffy but original & well written.
FX Better Things B- Quirky adult sit-com that had a laugh or two.
CBS Bull B- Good performance by the lead, M. Weatherly but not so much for the plot & writing.
USA Falling Water B+ The show has potential to get confusing but they laid out the basic premise. Well acted.
CBS MacGyver D+ Formulaic and predictable. Cute lead actor but thats not enough.
ABC Notorious B+ Interesting plot with good chemistry between the leads- It feels like there is enough to keep the show going for a while.
SYFY Van Helsing B Interesting twist to the vampire story with decent production values. It could be enough to carry it through a season or 2.
FOX The Exorcist A- Surprisingly well done and written, it has more of a movie quality then a TV show feel to the show.
FOX Pitch B+ Well written & acted, its worth continuing to watch. Is there enough there for a full season or 2?
NBC This is Us A very well done drama without geek overtones. The season isnt laid out, I am interested in watching it unfold.
I'm looking for a site/app that will help me keep track of the shows I'm watching or want to watch. Just something that will let me track where I'm up to on all my shows as well as provide a list for future shows I want to watch. Basically I'm looking for something like Goodreads for TV shows except that it needs to allow me to track where I'm up to in a certain show.
I thought this Pogdesign site would be what I'm looking for because I was able to add all the shows I watch or want to watch and then mark the episodes I've seen already. But that site is geared towards what's on TV tonight or this week/month. I generally don't care very much when things are on since I rarely watch TV shows within a week of when they originally aired. Heck I'm over a year behind on some of the shows I'm watching now.
Any good suggestions?
From Wikipedia, regarding Timeless:
Even though it is geared towards what is currently on, I use PogDesign for binge watching older shows too.
Hover over SHOWS at the top, pick the alphabet letter that your show starts with, and then browse to and click on your show. It will show you all the seasons of the show and still let you check off shows as you watch them.
Of all the sites I have tried, this is the one that fits my needs the best.
Reminder, Westworld (one of the shows many of us are looking forward to) starts tonight.
The latest episode of Queen Sugar was one of the best hours of tv I've ever seen.
Is anyone watching Travelers (with Erick McCormack of Will and Grace)? As far as I know it's only been released in Canada to-date but it probably can be found using "magic". I watched the pilot and was somewhat intrigued.
Anyone watching Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency? I have been pleasantly surprised at this one, I must say. Another show where you really have to pay attention to get all of it.
It's on BBC America FYI--the first episode is available free on Amazon. They just aired the second episode last night; it's on Saturdays. Stars Elijah Wood.
Not a new show, but S3 of The Fall started a few weeks back. Not a show for everyone, I understand, but it's excellent.
I liked this as well. Just quirky enough to keep me interested.
