    The WV...
That explains why I couldn't find the 'allow live TV' that I was looking for using 2 different set-up guides (both with TiVo references). I nearly wore out the 'remote' I believe selecting buttons. I'm this far into the setup I'll go ahead and attempt a completion. later I'll swap the Roamio back into the location and do a setup with it.

What would you think a Mini would do with a fresh setup? Allow me to choose which 'donor' or ..............................?

The 4XL has always been on the 'network' - just no M-card or display device.

Because my A92 had attempted a setup from my Roamio it first looked for the Roamio and I just had to go back to the A92 'settings' and choose the 4XL TiVo. No stutter - no connection required to TiVo - JUST WORKED

You'll be asked to choose one or the other device as the Mini's host DVR. The Mini's host DVR association can also be easily changed after setup via the Settings menu.

The biggest modern hassle with switching host DVRs is if you have DVRs running a mix of gen3 and gen4, as the Mini needs to be running the same software as its host. No problem of all your boxes are running gen3 UI.
