I was waiting to see what TiVo offered at CES before deciding if I should go with DirecTV and the HD TiVo. There's a lot of things I hate about my Motorola DVR with cable, and I've got the latest version the 6412 v3. The worst thing is how slow it is to begin playing again from being paused. Finally saw a working HD TiVo demo (at CompUSA of all places) and was able to pause and back-skip an NBA game in HD. Very smooth. Got to thinking about DirecTV again. Now, I come here and see that D* is going to an all lease program in March. How will this affect new customers who want to start out with an HD TiVo? NOTE: I'm quite familiar with the MPEG4 stuff coming and what that means. I'm looking to be able to use a TiVo for about a year. The Series 3 is supposed to be out in the second half of the year. I'm not holding my breath, and want HD TiVo now.
