I'm looking to buy a new dell xps 400 and have a question. I think I already know the answer to this but here it goes. There is an option to have a single tv tuner preinstalled. If i do this, will it be able to receive a directv signal without adding an aditional directv tuner to my setup?

No. Only a Directv box can receive signals from the sats.

Microsoft is working with DirecTV and Intel to develop a DirecTV tuner card for Media PCs.

Whatever you do make sure to get a Media Center PC, it makes things alot easier.
