Calling all Eastenders, Casualty, Emmerdale and more fans! There's a way to LEGALLY watch a lot of BBC & ITV shows, some about 24 hours after they're broadcast in the UK!

Now, no-one is saying you'll get everything, but for $6.99 a month, at least SOME of your Brit TV fix can be fed. The list is not timy, but it's certainly not in the Netflix or Hulu range. It does, however, offer some exclusive content, ranging from fresh to classic!

The site came online yesterday, I think, and you can find it at britbox.com

At launch, you can watch using a web browser, iOS or Android devices with a Roku app due within days. I dropped an email to them asking about the FireTV, but if there's an Android app, it can probably be loaded into ES. I'm going to wait for their answer, but I think it's well worth a look.

I'm looking forward to not having to download shows from nefarious sites. I've always said that if I could pay to watch these shows, I would. After 19 years of living here, it's time I ponied up a few bucks!

"BritBox — a new streaming service from the BBC and ITV" so maybe it is really legal. They all say they are but...

Not much of interest to me. But for a month or two, it could be nice. It is cheap enough.

Britbox was also mentioned in another thread back in December.

Seems like a win-win for BBC and ITV. People in the US are either getting these shows through magical means or just don't watch any of it. Either way, they're not getting money from these people. I can see signing up for this for a month to see if I can find stuff to make it worth keeping around.

Apparently it only works on an Apple TV if you have a 4th generation - bummer.

All 11 seasons of Red Dwarf are available too! IMHO, one of the funniest and most original sitcoms to come out of the UK (apart from all the other funny and original sitcoms! ;)).

Yes, we saw your post telling us that a month ago.

I resolved the problem by dishing out $29 for a Rocky Express. Works perfectly.

What is a Rocky Express? (Googled, couldn't find anything video-related.)

I just read elsewhere that using the promocode IWANTBRITBOX will double the free trial offer to two weeks, if anyone want to give it a try.
