I would be surprised if Netflix released DVDs. They want you to pay a monthly subscription, not buy a DVD.

Netflix wouldn't release the DVDs, it would be Twentieth Century Fox who would release the DVDs. The show producer releases the DVDs, not the airing channel.

I'd be happy to pay for the DVD, but I just don't have a need for a Netflix subscription.

So subscribe for a month and drop it. One month would cost less than a dvd anyway.

Better yet, it's easy to get a 2 week trial subscription. Should be plenty of time to watch.

That's a good question... can you rip from Netflix? It's going to be streaming, not on DVD or Blu-ray...

I think I've watched 10 episodes today during the IFC marathon, it's such a good show and I can't wait for it to return. Until then, I will read Bob Loblaw's Law Blog :D

This show will make me turn streaming back on... at least for a month... (wait until all eps are "aired", and presumably all will continue to be streamable... so then resubscribe to streaming for a month, watch all eps.. then turn streaming back off..)

This show consistently makes me LOL. I've watched each episode many, many times, and each time I pick up something new.

I was watching "Meet The Veals" where George Michael was going to give a promise ring to Ann. (Her?)

He was looking for his mother's engagement ring but couldn't find it. He asked Lindsay where it was and she directed him elsewhere. But according to Ron Howard narrating,
"In fact, Lindsay was currently wearing it on her middle toe. Roast beef."

I almost spit out my drink. I never remembered hearing 'Roast beef' before and it made me LOL.

Regarding the thread, I hope they include many extras with the box set. I could spend hours enjoying it.

There is no (planned) box set. It's a streaming show.

So it will never be on DVD? If so that makes me sad.

They haven't announced anything definitively, but I'm 99.9% certain that the new season will eventually be released on DVD.

I can't figure out the excitement for the streaming. All the episodes are currently being shown on IFC. And it randomly appears on other channels throughout the year. Why not just record it when it comes on?

Is it because the streaming will be commercial-free?

The excitement is because these will be all *new* episodes. A fourth season. The existing episodes have already been streaming on Netflix for some time.
