C'mon, just shoot Jack Bauer in the knee and be done with it, right?
They'd just wrap it in gauze and it'd heal by the next episode.
Yep. The highest rated shows on network TV these days have a fraction of ratings some of these shows they're trying to revive had.
Maybe we'll finally get that Friends reunion they've been teasing about for the last decade.
24 prequel series in the works at Fox that will center on Jack Bauer origin story
Wow - I completely missed the 2011-2018 seasons. Damn.
24 is not "frequently hailed as one of the best TV shows of all time." Maybe frequently by one enthusiastic person, but not universally.
I love the show and even I know it sucked. Probably my favorite guilty pleasure of all time.
Me too. It was must-see-TV, even if it was ridiculous. In fact, that was part of the charm.
Semantics, maybe. It would make my list of the best 1000 shows of all time.
Alan Sepinwall and Matt Seitz have it as the #58 TV show in their book "TV (the book)." It's in the same rough group as "Miami Vice," "Star Trek" (original series), "Firefly," "The Rockford Files," "The Wonder Years," and "Justified," among others.
I like the idea of the origin story. At least it won't be the same old thing which I'd watch but honestly am bored of.
I'm a sucker for an origin story.
I enjoyed it for the first 2-3 seasons. Loved coming here and reading people picking apart the timelines lol.
Don't get me wrong, I watched all of the 24's, even without Jack, but ... I mean let's be honest. I don't think I can agree with the grouping from "TV (the book)". I guess there's no accounting for taste .
Yeah, Miami Vice and Firefly in the same group doesn't seem right.
Meaning you think those shows are better than 24 or worse?
One is better, one is worse, but having them in the same group is weird to me.
Ranked lists based on subjective tastes are a complete waste of time, IMO. Unless your only goal is to compare your preferences with the authors preferences (which seems pointless to me, but whatever floats your boat).
Basic structure of every forum's ranked list threads:
10 Link to ranked list posted.
20 Replies of "how could they have ranked [x] so low? They're crazy! I LOVED that!"
30 Replies of "how could they have ranked [y] so high? They're crazy! I HATED that!"
40 GOTO 20
Spot on! But it's also interesting party discussion fodder Water cooler stuff Also for those of us interested in what makes people tick, it's an insight into other people's tastes. Other than that, discussing anything that's subjective is pretty pointless unless you end game is to convince someone they are wrong. Endless online discussions relating to Mac vs. PC, Android vs. iPhone, Coke vs. Pepsi prove that.
Basic, you say? I see what you did there...
