I have a 360 slim and Watch Instantly will start, but then exit back out to the Dashboard. Only way to prevent it is to unplug it from the receiver. And that certainly isn't happening. I am forced to watch it on the Premiere.

I also have the "black screen" playback sometimes. At first I thought it was because I pressed Select instead of Play on the remote, but it doesn't matter.

I still seriously doubt its related. Most likely if it solved the issue for you its merely a coincidence.

If it was an issue with your dns server resolving Netflix addresses then it stands to reason the issue would be with your service provider's dns server. It wouldn't also affect my service provider's dns server.

Also I have several other devices on my home network that use Netflix and none of them display this issue.

In fact I use my PS3 as a backup to the Tivo. And the PS3 is connected wirelessly as opposed to the Tivo which is wired. The PS3 gets a less stable connection then the Tivo.

It also made a big difference with Netflix starting on my Boxee Boxes. I didn't check my PS3, 360's or other Netflix devices. But it also affected webpage loading too making them pop up much faster than the normal .5 to 1 second load time.

Same problem, frequently it takes multiple starts to get going.

I don't want to rain on your parade but again I have to insist this has little to do with the Netflix problems people are experiencing.

And I think its important not to confuse the issue because it appears we may be confirming a bug in the Netflix app that needs to be corrected.

Yes mine starts on the first try in only a few seconds. It doesn't have an issue where it gets a black screen.

I just want to add that I can duplicate a behavior that indicates its actually loaded the stream even if its failed to start playing it.

If I'm waiting a long time for the video to start playing I can hit rewind on the remote and in the preview window you always see when seeking the video has progressed a minute or two or however long I had been waiting for it to start.

Mine has always had this issue (Tivo Premiere) Seems to be only when I first start watching (having just launched the Netflix app) If I'm watching a series, or multiple programs, it doesn't happen again. I use google DNS BTW.

In terms of overall design of the Tivo Netflix app, there is nothing too it... it's just your instant queue and that's it, so it's defiantly lacking when compared to other devices. For me it still has the best video quality (my other devices are a Wii and a PS3) And I often use the Tivo search to find things on netflix, so not being able to browse in the app isn't so bad, of course Tivo they wanted to update and improve the current app... that would be nice too
