about 40% of my Netflix shows are foreign language. Once you get used to subtitles some of my favorites are:

    Netflix:
    Bonus Family- Sweden (fantastic show)
    Bordertown- Finland
    Unauthorized Living- Spain
    Good Morning Call- Japan
    Fauda- Israel
    Meteor Garden- China
My First First Love- South Korea
    Deadwind- Finland
    Elite- Spain
    The Rain- Denmark
    Dark- Germany
    The Chalet- France
    Marseilles- France

in addition a great Amazon Prime show:

    Trapped -Iceland

I watched season 2 of Trapped recently. Almost as good a season 1. Great show.

it really is and its amazing that we can watch a show set in the middle of nowhere Iceland and enjoy it so much. 5 years ago that would be impossible

The first season of The Rain vaguely intrigued me, but the second one lost me pretty quickly.

Dark (Germany) is spectacular, although you REALLY have to pay attention (it's a very intricate time travel story set in three different eras, with strangely overlapping characters). Two out of three seasons have aired, and I'm going crazy waiting for the third and final one.

I'm now watching Better Than Us (Russia), an unofficial remake of Humans/Äkta människor, and enjoying it almost as much as the originals.

Sacred Games (India) based on a book and Money Heist (Spain) are great.

Sacred games season 2 just started. It is a serious thriller/mystery. Money Heist as you can tell is about stealing money and is action and little less serious. Both I am enjoying.

    Also:

    Occupied - Norway

On the edge of the category is the comedy Norsemen. Norwegian but filmed simultaneously in Norwegian and English, and obviously the English language version is on Netflix.

I purposely left out foreign English speaking shows. If we want to include those I'll add a few:

    The Crown- England
    Wanted- Australia (very underrated)
    Northern Rescue- Canada
    Heartland- Canada
    Bodyguard- England
    Intelligence- Canada

Buddy cop series with odd buddies:

    Fallet.

English-Swedish language, eight half-hour-ish episodes. Wish there were a second season. Took me two episodes to get into it but they are short.

I agree with the sentiment, although I was doing this with Netflix DVDs and streaming 10-15 years ago (with DVDs, typically watching the Netflix foreign-movie DVD the evening I received it, and mailing it back the following morning; rinse-and-repeat).

Fauda has been amazing. When the first season ran even many Palestinians were amazed to discover it was an Israeli show, given the attempt to portray both sides' motivations and humanity.

Great thread! A couple I've binged that were thoroughly enjoyable

Bordertown - Finnish series set on the Russian border. Father is detective Kari Sorjonen who uses mind palace techniques to solve crimes, has a close relationship with his college-aged daughter and complicated relationship with his cancer-fighting wife. Great supporting character in a Russian Lena, a tough as nails type covert ops type character.

La Mante - French series. Female imprisoned serial killer helps catch a current killer copying her original crimes.

I also echo the Fauda recommendations from above

I have been watching a lot of the Spanish series. They have all been excellent.

    Money Heist
Gran Hotel - Much better than the recent US version!
    Cable Girls
    Velvet
    Elite
    El Ministerio del Tiempo
    El Barco

Also watched Sacred Games and Fauda - very good.
