Any word on this? I searched, but didn't find anything recent.

Tivo support online docs show it isn't available.

    THANKS.

Thanks. I didn't think it worked. Isn't it a requirement by the FCC or something to have this enabled? Didn't Netflix get sued to do it?

Netflix is not considered a broadcaster and isn't subject to the FCC.

A class action lawsuit was brought against them a few months ago.

We'll see what happens in the future, but as of right now:

Netflix on Tivo - no support
Netflix on other devices (I use a Wii) - support but hit-or-miss what videos are captioned
Hulu+ on Tivo - supported, so I haven't tried any other device - but hit or miss what videos are captioned

If you have content to stream from a PC that you want to use .srt subs with, use Streambaby. It's the most reliable option for watching things with subtitles. Obviously it's up to you what files you get and where you obtain them - but Streambaby as a technical solution to this problem is pretty rocking.
