I'm thinking Duane Henry is going to be Michael Weatherly's replacement. You sorta can tell he's getting involved with the team. Sort of an exchange agent sort of thing. Sarah Clarke will be guest starring as Joe Spano's (Fornell) temporary replacement as he's supposed "to be out" for a while. Not sure why he was written out - Spano didn't say he was leaving.

What a lead in... guess we'll have to see if there's any midseason shuffling. Though I kinda liked having both NCIS's together...

And let's not forget the second NCIS spinoff did fail... it had two crossover episodes and nothing more.

Edit: it was the second NCIS spinoff. We're on the third (NCIS NOLA) right now.

You mean NCIS:LA that has 7 seasons and is coming back for an 8th? I don't consider that a failure.

I'm pretty sure he means NCIS:Red, with Kim Raver and John Corbett, which never even got picked up after a 2 episode tie in the NCIS: LA.

Yes, I was talking about the ill-fated NCIS Red. I wonder what the ratings were on those episodes.. or why it wasn't picked up.

I hope they don't keep Sarah Clarke around for long. I'm not a fan. I wish they'd have Diane Neal join the team. I like the chemistry between Gibbs and Borin.

Unfortunately, the chemistry between Diane Neal and Mark Harmon was extremely bad, according to Hollywood gossip sources. Not at the level of Julianne Margulies-Archie Punjabi bad, but still pretty bad.

Neal did one episode of NCIS: New Orleans and hasn't been invited back.

The network didn't think it worked. They thought it was going do about as well (poorly) as the first Criminal Minds spin off.

People didn't know much about Red, in advance of airing. I doubt the ratings were any worse then a regular episode of NCIS-LA.

I had to go check Diane Neal's imdb page to see which episodes she had been in, which speaks to how well I remembered her character.

It shows three episodes of NCIS:Nola -- I'll have to take their word for it, because I generally don't watch unless there's a crossover episode. But if the storyline spanned all three episodes, that's essentially the same thing as what you said -- one story arc and nothing else.

If we're playing who-has-chemistry-with-Mark Harmon casting games, I wouldn't mind a guest spot from Allison Janney. But she's busy with her own show. Oh, well.

    She was in S1E12, S1E13 and S1S20.

From the IMDb episode descriptions, the episodes don't seem to be related.

I stand corrected. Diane Neal was in two episodes of NCIS: NOLA in Season 1. But they didn't bring her back for Season 2. She also hasn't been on NCIS since 2014.

Michael Weatherly's Very Special Agent Anthony Dinozzo was not at all one of my favorite characters, but from the trailer for Bull, it looks like I'll like it.
