NBC channel in Boston area moving

    As has been reported in other forum threads, channel 60.5 in Boston doesn't have program info in the TIVO program guide although it is the only way many of us receive the new NBC Boston broadcasts. Since the program guide does show NBC Boston info under channel 8.1, which many of us can't pick up, why can't TIVO just put the same info in for 60.5?

    My Blindspot season pass did not migrate even though it wasn't bound to a channel. (The channel was set to "All".)

    Hooray! Channel 60-5 was renamed on my TIVO as WMFP-DT5 and the program info is now there!!!!!

    Maybe there's something else wrong with the guide data for that show?

    Still nothing on RCN although I contacted support yesterday. I'm probably the only RCN customer in Boston with a stand-alone TIVO, so they may never fix it.

    That's weird, mine (Blindspot) actually recorded twice, I am assuming once for the manual one I had already set up, and then I forced the update yesterday, and it recorded automatically from the Season Pass.

    I removed the manual recordings before forcing a connection I knew would bring the lineup fix. After the connection, the To Do List was correct.

    Get ready for more fun, NBC Boston has announced that they are moving from 16/516 to 10/510 TODAY.

    After 20 days, TiVO STILL has WHDH-TV Channel 7 listed as "NBC", with no network designation for NBC Channel 810. I have notified NBC Boston about this, and I can't believe they haven't done anything about it (they have the listings correct listings for both channels, but if you use the guide option to use the channel's network affiliated-logo, you will think that NBC is still affiliated with WHDH). This is considerably longer than the 7-10 business days they claim. TiVO also lists several channels in the upper-200s that have moved to the upper 900s...this happened MONTHS ago. Do they even have a clue?

    As you may have heard, they screwed up AGAIN. FiOS customers had 510 deleted today. My TiVo made its daily call in the morning, next isn't until tomorrow at 4am. I'm safe, but others are not.

    Yes, I can. I lost my guide data for Fios channels 510 and 10 yesterday. This is a really special kind of screwup, to finally get the situation with NBC's move in the Boston area straightened out and then undo it a week or so later.

    Well, it seems that if you call enough and have enough open tickets all at the same time (I have more than a dozen now in just the last 45 days) they start giving you credits. If you have a lifetime subscription as I do, they start sending you free stuff. A slide remote is on its way to my door despite my protests that all I wanted was to never have to call support again.

    FIOS in Metrowest Boston here, confirming they "fixed" the fix. Channels 10/510 removed overnight

    The wife has been pushing for us to upgrade hardware (from a Premier XL4). Macrovision makes it really easy to say no. You couldn't do any better if you trying to kill the TiVo brand on purpose.

    In the process of looking at this, I realized the TiVo missed the 1/19 airing of the last two episodes of The Good Place. Luckily, I was able to download them from the NBC site.

    I'll have to look at the history to see why, if it's still in there. I forget how far back it goes.

    The history is there and, apparently, that was the day WBTS moved from 516 to 510 and so there was no signal on 516 when it tried to record.

    But the good news is, the guide data is back for 510. So, for FiOS customers, force a connection, if required, go to the channel list and make sure...
    • WNEUDT is unchecked for 510
    • WBTS-LD is checked for 510
    • WBTS-LD is unchecked for 516
    And continue to ignore the fact that 507, WHDHDT still has the NBC logo next to it.
