So when I bought my S3, I went with the $4 a month "Basic Cable" (or lifeline). I get about 28 channels, plenty of good ones like Discovery, SciFi, TBS, etc.

HD is powered by OTA, antenna in the attic.

One things was missing.. HBO. Hmmm... I bought two Dish 311 receivers on Craigslist, will sell one on Ebay (paid $65 for both), and am hooking it to my SA TiVo. It will sit in the living room along side the S3, and feed the bedroom with Coax. I can subscribet to JUST HBO for a $6/mo access fee. Perfect! $21.99/mo for HBO...

Total cable bill will be $25.99...

Can you just subscribe to the Movie (Premium) Channels without a Base Package? Just wondering.

$4 for 28 channels? Lucky SOB. Obviously that's not thru TimeWarner.

Yup... the put a filter for channels 25-50 I think, which leaves a TON of channels.. Comcast Denver...

It's like $14/mo, but I get a $10 discount off of the cable modem...

Obviously, since I corrected my typo in my post 30 seconds after I posted it, it was clear what I meant. Unfortunately there is no way to edit the thread title.

I guess there's no room for error in this forums, huh??

The discussion was at an impasse - you shared good info, some folks acknowledged it, and I had nothing to add but silliness. So there :p
