So you have ordered from them before without a problem? It looks like a Yahoo store. I could set up a Yahoo store. I couldn't find them on ResellerRatings.com.

So this drive, you can just plug into a Tivo HD and expand the memory? Do you have to do anything else? I was going to look into expanding my Tivo HD but you usually have to open the box and void the warranty.

Apparently TiVo HD only supports this particular external drive, though I don't know why it wouldn't work with another, like a MyBook. Anyway, YES! You just turn everything off, connect and plug it in, turn everything on follow a few prompts and that's it. (If you ever disconnect it, though, you'll lose all your recordings.)

There's great info in the Sticky on eSATA expansion FAQ: http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=370784

I just looked at his store. He's only got one of each item for sale: his TiVoHD, his Wireless G adapter and his external drive. So the price is good b/c they're used...

There's apparently something in the firmware on the DVRExpander that the HD is looking for.

One can still upgrade the drives using things like WinMFS, though.

I did buy the DVD Expander from him after I googled the store. He seems to be a legit dealer in Audi parts and was just selling his Tivo stuff. The Expander didn't say anything about being used. He might not have gotten around to using it. But someone posted the info at Slickdeals and someone else bought it first. I'm going to BB tomorrow to pick up this deal.

I know this thread is about the eSATA drive, but thought folks may be interested in a good price on another option.

Zipzoomfly.com has the Samsung HD501LJ 500GB internal SATA drive (3-year warranty) for $79.99 with free 5-7 day FedEx delivery. Not too shabby a price for a decent drive.
