Surprised there isn't a thread for this already. Is anyone else watching this? I realize it's only available on Directv/AT&T but I thought someone would have started a thread by now.

Anyway, I'm really liking it. Brendan Gleeson is fantastic in the lead detective role. The Mr. Mercedes character is good too. Kelly Lynch is looking pretty rough but I think that was their intention. I almost didn't recognize her until I saw the credits.

    Thoughts?

We are watching. It is an excellent show, really enjoying it. We are about 3 episodes behind right now so need to get caught up but every episode has been good.......

I like it, too. It's the best Stephen King adaptation I've seen in awhile. Wow, it's really creepy. I recommend it.

I like how the opening credits montage is slightly different each week depending on the mental state of the character...(especially noticeable last episode after the events of the previous week).

I didn't pick up on that until I noticed the puzzle was more completed in one of the openings. Now I pay attention.

I'm watching it. I agree, one of the better adaptations of King's work. But as it's a straight crime drama with none of King's horror stylings thrown in it's easier to adapt. Much like Shawshank Redemption, or Stand By Me.

I like that it hews fairly close to the book. Hopefully it continues with the last two books in the series.

Four eps in, liking it muchly, which surprises me because I thought the book mediocre at best. BG is indeed great, but then he always is.

I could do w/o the incest stuff. Yuck and double-yuck. I had enough of that from the latest season of GOT.

Agreed! I thought this was one of the better Stephen King adaptations. There are three books in the series, so hopefully we'll get three seasons.

I'm afraid of where they may go in a second season. Was there really any doubt how the season one finale ended?

Without getting too spoilery, will it require a ridiculous amount of suspension of disbelief?
