MP3 editing software

    What are some programs I can use to edit mp3s. I want to pull auto clips and splice them together. :)

    If you (or someone you know) has a Mac, Fission is a great choice.

    Does Audacity edit .mp3s without first decompressing to .wav and then re-encoding to .mp3 when you save?

    mp3DirectCut will edit .mp3s natively.

    I don't actually use Audacity so I couldn't tell you. I think it does do what you are asking.

    I actually use Sony Acid Pro for all my sound editing. But that one isn't free....
