So I bought a Premiere 750500 for $43 shipped. I thought about swapping the card from my Roamio but then rhought--"cabecards are cheap, I can use a 3rd". Well, not if its uo to Xfinity. 2nd tier customer support advised me to buy one at WalMart. She had no idea what a Teebo or a cablecard was. The original rep brought her on and she had another higher up on her line as well. Thats 3 people who could not manage to ship me a card. I will admit that these folks were at their homes and did not have access to ALL their reference materials. My rep sais "we use the HDMI cards now". Frightening when ya think about it. Will I have any luck at the cablecard hotline? Im gonna give it a try.

If you get your hands on a Comcast provided CableCard, there's an online activation site somewhere...

I am big enough to admit...I called again and the guy who answered verified my account and sent me a link agreeing to the 4.99/mnth and it was all over. Just a matter of who answers the phone. I was gonna go nuts on FB and Twitter but no need now.

In these "uncertain" times I choose to let it slide...this time!

You got the wrong person on the phone then .. I know they have a dedicated number for cable cards. Those people seem to know what they are doing for the most part.

I will say - I transferred my cablecard from my Roamio to my new Edge about a month ago and used their online activation. it went perfectly! I was shocked at how easy it was. They said it may take up to like 30 minutes to activate or something, but mine was activated immediately.

My sympathies on the CSR roulette, but I have to ask... why would you even contemplate downgrading from a Roamio to a Premiere?

    The WV...
I'm quite sure this was a + to his 'inventory' and the temptation I'd think just for a trial and confirm activation!

This might be his 3d card!

Not quite downgrading. Want to play around with te3 but dont want to lose all recordings again. If I really like the operating system maybe I will rollback the Roamio. If I had to replace the Roamio I would go for an original Bolt.

Go ahead and enter your account number and phone number and you should be taken to a screen which shows you any currently paired cableCARDs on your account and the host ID and give you the option to enter the serial number for a new one.

Cable Cos. are intentionally not telling their lower end employees ANYTHING about Cable Cards or "TeBoes" (as in Tim, the former spokesperson for TiVo). That is part of the Cable Co. tactict to kill Cable Card (and non- in house DVR's) before Cable cos. move on to IP for TV.
