    I know we don't usually have threads for MF, but I thought this week's episode was significant. The production staff mentioned at some point during the season a "significant" character was going to be killed off (not sure if those were the exact words). So fans started speculating who that might be. I said from the moment they announced it that it wasn't going to be one of the main characters but Jay's ex-wife, Claire and Mitchell's mom. Sure enough, that's who it was. It was fun watching them all deal with the whole situation.

    Not sure why they had to handle the death during the annual Halloween episode. Usually one of the show's funniest, the shadow of death hanging over the episode kept most of the comedy restrained which was disappointing.

    I thought the exact same thing. They really have two episodes a year they do very well, one is Halloween and the other Valentines Day. They could have made an episode dedicated to her death and not messed with the Halloween episode.

    Since this is the last season (so I've heard) I'm disappointed there wasn't a traditional Halloween episode, I love those. You could kill Dee Dee off anytime. I thought maybe Stella would be the one to go :)

    Hopefully we'll see Clive Bixby one last time in February

    I'm glad it wasn't a actually a main character. Sure, it was a recurring character, but only in a handful of episodes. My wife was holding off watching because she heard the news and didn't want to see a sad episode because the show is supposed to be funny. I think they succeeded at what they tried to do.
