It's a good thing that Sarah Hyland is over 18.

I loved it, especially Luke giving Manny a hard time about being snatched and the attic.

I also thought the Taser was funny, especially because Phil was holding the baseball card. "Mint condition." "Almost mint condition."

No problem at all. I also prefer real brands to made up stuff, and everything made sense in this episode.

Loved when Jay said, "Let's all go out for Chinese food and have a good old-fashioned Jewish Christmas!!!". :p:D

I am Jewish and that is so true!!!!! ;)

    It was a good episode.

Target looked like a product placement, but I think just because we're used to generic stores being stuck in shows. If it were real life, the store name would have been mentioned. Considering how some placements are so ham fisted ( Bones ) this was done well.
I really liked Haley in the store. They usually portray her as dumb, so I liked seeing her shine. The shift from cleavage to store employee, including how she dashed up to her mom in line was done well and showed her thinking on her feet.

I think Talking Lily had just the one line "I have two dads" but it was delivered just at the right time and was pretty good. I liked how Alex told her right away that he'd probably already figured that out.

I understand the concept of Chinese food for Jewish Christmas, but my first thought was A Christmas Story, so I wanted to see Chinese waiters singing carols.

I thought Target was heavy handed, but I'd have to go back and watch the episode again (which I always do, many times ) to tell you why.

I felt it was obvious, but unobtrusive. Especially as compared to other examples of PP.

Did you catch the part where they came in with the broken tree? Mitch had the bottom, Alex had the top of the tree, and Lily throws down a branch.

I wouldn't say bothered. I very often "defend" this sort of product placement. But for me, it's getting _close_ to the line to barely start bothering me. (Yes, that's meant to be VERY slight.)

Regular commercials (including onscreen bugs!) bother me a zillion times more.

The hole his foot 'made' in the plasterboard was awfully close to perfectly circular!

Didn't bother me either. The scene was set in a store. Whether it was Target, Walmart or a generic store doesn't matter to me <shrug>

I actually thought it was cool that it was a real store.

    (1) They certainly work for me! And I can say that because...

    She is pretty darn cute!

    That was great!

I also loved when everyone was splitting up for their part of the Christmas shopping, Mitchell & Lilly come in to an empty room. Mitchell yells into the home "HELLO" and Lilly answered with "Hello". So she had a couple of lines and the throwing down of the branch from the tree!
