so-so episode, but always a few lol moments with Modern Family. What did you think?
Not "top 10" for the series but still good. I enjoyed the Cam as a mom thing. The Jay story line I didn't really like. The opening was funny with Claire in that tshirt. Gloria in hiking clothes.... not what I like to see her wear
didn't love it either. Agreed that the Jay storyline was bad, Cam was funny, and the hike was just ok. Not sure I liked Gloria's hiking clothes.
But the episode last week, even though it was a re-run, was one of my favorites ever (when the kids catch Phil and Claire in bed).
Wow that was a let down for sure.
A few chuckles but nothing really memorable.
I laughed a few times, but not as much as with other episodes. The girls telling Luke not to give in was amusing and then them finally giving in.
I had a friend over that had never seen this show so we did a mini marathon. I showed her my top favorite 4 eps from this season (but not this weeks). She said she is going home to SP it on her TiVo now.
We're your mother now.
That was the feeling at my house as well.
Claire: So beautiful!
Gloria: Thank you!
It's a 30 minute sitcom.. I love the show, it's funny, none of the characters are cartoonish or over the top annoying, but it seems some of you think too highly of it.
My wife and in-laws thought it was one of the best, but I agree with most in this thread that it was just average.
Had they ever previously confirmed that this show takes place in LA? I know when they went to the baseball stadium, it was obviously Dodgers stadium but they didn't specifically acknowledge that. In fact, in one first season episode, it appeared they were trying to set it in the midwest by having Jay and Cam rooting for Illinois in a college football game. But this time, when they went hiking, they stood in front of that sign that said "Westridge Canyon Back Wilderness Area" and that's just outside LA.
I thought Cam knocking the guy off the bike was hilarious: "He looks old!"
But the rest of the episode was just ok.
As we like to say around here, still, a mediocre episode blah blah blah better than most blah.
Phil: They are onion glasses. You should get pair.
Jay: I was about to tell you the same thing.
The best part of that scene was Mitchell telling Cameron, "Hands..." as Cam was running to help the man.
I laughed out loud quite a few times, I thought this episode was fine.
I think that was the only part of the whole Cam as "mom" bit that I laughed at. I loved him really throwing the football because we knew he had been on the football team in college.
But probably not a quarterback
They also went to a Lakers game when Phil got on the kiss cam with Gloria.
My problem with this is if Cam played college football he would not run like that, gay or not.
Cam played for Illinois, which is why they were rooting for the Illini. Cam grew up in rural Missouri, though, so if he played for Illinois, he must not have been good enough to be recruited by Mizzou.
I thought the best part about that was the way he ran after Mitchell reminded him about his hands. He put them straight down like he was having to forcibly will himself not to run like a girl.
Good point. I forgot about that.
