Son of Jor-el!
Gloria: I had them when I was two. Big ones!
Phil: What is she...
Claire: Earrings, Phil. Earrings.
No one from Missou-rra would say Missour-reee...
Once again you could see many of the jokes coming but they are still funny. Like Cam falling when rock climbing
I really don't like the redhead Dad (can't think of his name right now), his acting and delivery is so flat to me. It might be that Cam is so good that he pales by comparison, but he has quickly become the worst actor of the bunch for me.
You'll be mine! All mine!!
What was also great was that the CC had it as hair rings as well...
Funny as this show is (and I LOVE it), I'm always delighted at the lesson. Last night "You are the bravest kid I know." And then he went on to identify the nerdlike things and made them all positives.
I had tears streaming down my face when Claire said the line about Luke being two and could not speak but bark like a dog. I too have a two year old who doesn't speak but barks like a dog. Hit very very close to home. My wife and I had to pause the tivo we were laughing and crying so hard.
Luke: "One time, she gave me a Woody."
I replayed that several times, just to see Claire's reaction over & over.
In the boys locker room:
"It smells like feet"
"That's not feet".
You've got it backwards. "No one from Missou-re would say Missou-rah."
Completely untrue by the way. People from the cities (STL and KC) call it Missou-re, people from the country call it Missou-rah. Cam, being from a farm, would probably call it Missou-rah.
It was still a funny joke though
I loved that Cam's clown training helped him take the fall.
Lots of laughs in this episode and even though you can see some of the punchlines coming, they pull off the execution so well that you have to laugh.
Between the comedy execution and the well written character scenes, this allows Modern Family to stand out.
I don't know that I know anyone who calls it Missourah. Maybe my Grandmother. But she also calls spaghetti spaghettah.
Is Julie Bowen pregnant?
Yeah, I thought I saw a little pooch there in one scene. Maybe it was just the way her clothes were fitting.
She was also carrying a big purse and/or keeping her arms crossed in front of her body quite often.
