Anyone else watch this? I really enjoyed it, though I'm not the biggest Howie Mandel fan. I thought the "mob" did a great job and the girl seemed suitably impressed/shocked.

One of the few times a TV show caused me to shed a tear. Ranks right up there for me on the emotional scale with soldier's surprising their love ones with a homecoming (which now has 2 competing shows on TV).

I'm amazed they were able to pull off all the prep infront of the hotel without her noticing. The buildup to it was a little long for me. I can see myself watching a 10 minute highlight reel version if this gets picked up for a series order. Given the amount of work that went into it, I doubt they'd even do 2 surprises in a 60 minute episode though.

Proposing the wedding right away was pretty balsy. Even I know you can't just deprive a woman of planning wedding, much less drape a random, ill fitting dress over her. He sure didn't help by not reassuring her that her parents and friends were going to be there.

I don't watch a ton of 'reality' shows, but I do love me a nice flash mob. I'd tune in again for more.

I FF till the flash mob part. That part was very well done.

It has been picked up for 8 more episodes.

I'm looking forward to other themes- this one was a little too stressful as a wedding is major :D

Wonder if it was 100% legal with a license and all- don't both have to go get one or is it state by state?
Or they just fudged that little detail?

i was surprised how much i liked this...

the one thing i would've done differently if i were howie was to make the beginning a little more subtle. i would've had the waiter start it off... so it looked more like a individual annoying waiter schtick, and then subtlely incorporated the other diners... iow, i would've tried to stretch out the reveal a minute longer so it appears more organically rather than in her face.

btw, she would be smoking hawt if she lost 60#

I thought she had a beautiful smile. Her face really lit up with genuine pleasure...

I really enjoyed this - checked to see if more episodes were scheduled but nothing yet.

Any idea when it will be on again?

Given the "do you have any secrets" pitch at the end of the show (during the end credits or maybe afterwards? I can't remember), I suspected they didn't have any more in the can. It seemed to me like an experiment that went well enough to run with the idea, and now their running with it, but I could be wrong.

The press release does mention some very concrete scenarios already though:

There's probably a lot of prep work that goes into each shoot. I don't think they can afford to delay the return of more episodes for long enough to do 8 weekly episodes. In fact, they must be working on episodes concurrently, because even the practice and final setup phase might take more than a week.

Just watched it tonight and I loved it but I have been a big fan of Flashmobs for awhile so the premise was already a win for me. There was a lot of prep before and I wondered how they were going to keep a whole hour entertaining but they did a great job with it I thought.
