Game here in the NYC burbs is on both YESHD and FS1HD. I’m manually recording YES so I can hear Kay and Cone call the game. The scheduler wanted to record FS1.

I guess TiVo figured the two HD options are fox and one of his (mine) regional sports and assumed NESN was the right choice. No argument there.

Tonight the only option is ESPN for Yankees- RedSox. That is indeed what is scheduled.

Was NESN the lower numbered channel of the two choices?

I was told by someone at TiVo in a position to know that when a show or event is available to record on two channels, the scheduler is supposed to choose the lower numbered channel, which in my guide data would be the RSNs for all my local sports teams (YES, MSG, MSG+ and SNY, which are 715, 716, 717 and 718, respectively).

    ESPN2, ESPN, TBS and Fox Sports 1 are all higher-numbered. 735, 736, 739 and 769, respectively.

When it works as expected, this "lower-numbered channel" technique is actually a clever way to make sure a viewer's RSNs are first choice for recording, IMO.

My channel lineup is the opposite. Espn is the lowest number then all it's siblings then the CBS and fs2 and2 and others then comes any, NESN and yes ..all going up. Last night was a fiasco I checked everywhere before landing on ESPN2 for redsox yanks

Lower channel option would mean when faced with a choice, Tivo would always record a low def showing!! Our HD begins at 1000. Channels do not correspond with their HD counterpart. Yes is 39 stand def and 1254 in HD. I'm sure that will be addressed soon. When I had Cox, all you had to do was add a 1 or 10 to go Hd. CNN was 33 CNNHD was 1033.

Curious. What is YES's channel #, compared to the others? Lowest or highest? Middle?
