I have a New York Yankees (Baseball) OnePass set to record "All channels", "HD preferred". I live in the NYC burbs. My RSN is YES (715) and games that also broadcast nationally on ESPN (736) or TBS (739) or FS1 (769) are usually blacked out in my area in favor of the RSN airing.

I was told that when a show or event is available to record on two different channels, the scheduler will choose the lower numbered channel to record. Unfortunately for me, the higher numbered channel is consistently being selected by the scheduler, and if I don't check the TDL, I'll either record hours of the 'blacked out' on-screen message, alternate programming, or in some rare cases the game, but with the wrong announcers.

Anyone else seeing this in other markets?

No I haven’t seen that but you may be better off with only recording the RSN always and then setting manual recordings for the one off national games. Or set up a wishlist for the Yankees.

Good thought, but I can't find a way to auto-record "Yankees" games and specify the channel. The OnePass channel option is stuck at "all" and we can't specify a channel using Wishlists, AFAIK. I tried making the channel a secondary keyword, but no dice.

Right now, I have to babysit the TDL, manually schedule my RSN and delete the pre-scheduled national recording.

Hmm never tried to set up a team One Pass but just did now and see as you wrote that you can’t restrict it to a single channel. Very limited.

I have a "New York Yankees" one pass. It will occasionally record YES and ESPN or MLB but always records YES. Those Sunday nights when ESPN is the only showing..that gets recorded. I also get recordings when the local CW or MYTV is showing the Yankees. I am quite happy. I am in CT. Near New Haven. Just north of the city.

What happens if you make a wishlist of name MLB Baseball but include a required Yankees as a keyword. Does it pick the right channels for autorecord?

Situations like this is why I miss the directv search capabilities. Can limit channels better. And better logic as well. More search terms.

It acts the same. Always wants to record the higher number showing.

You get duplicate recordings on YES and ESPN when the game airs on both channels? I never get duplicates. Just the higher-numbered channel records. So yesterday, it recorded the TBS airing on 739 and today it recorded the ESPN airing on 736. YES here is 715.

EDITED TO ADD: If you're with Optimum, curious what your TDL is showing for 9/7 at 4PM. FS1 or YES?

Steve- Sept 7 I am showing the game to be recorded on YES ch 1254 (Comcast). The guide shows this game on FS1,YES and NESN. Occasionally the guide will say Yanks vs RedSox OR Dodgers at Ray's. That's when you know it will be blacked out

Thanks, Matt. May be an Optimum guide data thing.

That said, I have two Bolts. This morning, I decided to wipe my GUIDE data and rebuild my MLB OnePasses. Take a look at screen shots from my iOS TiVo app below. Both OnePasses identical, as you can see, but different auto-scheduled recordings for the 9/7 4PM game! :tired:

Something is not right if the replays are being recorded. In spite of 2 replays of every game. My one pass only records the original, live game. The one pass looks correct. Optimum may list the replays as NEW where Comcast does not. Just guessing.

My bad. That's not the TDL, rather it's the episode list for the OnePass. I fixed the post above.

Look which showings have the double-check icon. Both are the live game at 4PM, except one box wants to record FS1 and the other wants to record YES.

That may be so. However the Yankees game will not be on FS1 or ESPN or MLB unless it is not on YES. And ...ya can't know for sure until the game starts. I let both recordings go until I see what's what.

In the pictures I do not see double checks on more than one Yankees game. You're one pass is set up correctly.

Most games on TBS or FS1 are also on YES, at least in my market. Southern Westchester.

Ya, but my issue is the same games aren’t being recorded on the same channel. Same guide data and OnePass on two different Bolts running the same software, but different scheduler choices.

If one Bolt is correct then use that exclusively and watch all the games on both boxes. Just a thought.

    Update, FWIW.

I rebuilt the guide data on my Family Room Bolt and created a new Yankees OnePass, and now it's showing the same [flawed] results as the Living Room Bolt OnePass. It's recording 769 (FS1) on 9/7 at 4PM, instead of 715 (YES). Not what I want, but at least both schedulers are using the same logic.

So here I am giving advice and this happens to me: my one pass for the Yankees says " HD if available". Well, my local CW is only in standard definition so my Roamio records the Red Sox feed. I didn't miss the game but I never would have chosen to hear the game from Boston's lackeys!!!

One more thing. I do have a CW in HD. The guide did not list a Yankees game but I am sure the game was shown on that channel. HOLD EVERYTHING!!! The game was on Fox as well. I guess Tivo chose to give me NESN rather than FOX HD.
