Hey. I'm in southern CT on Comcast. Starting today I am not receiving FXX in either hd or sd . I am getting a v53 error. I have 3 boxes. Bolt, Roamio and Premiere. Every other channel is fine. Tightened all connections (I think) and that's about it. Haven't called Comcast yet as it is late Saturday.

In system information tuner4 has no channel no frequency and says WRONG CARD STATE and NOT TUNED. Normally I would be concerned but all other tuners are fine and this is happening in all boxes. I did have a power burp at the house causing restarts on everything.

I'm pretty sure that's an IP only channel.

It wasn't 6 hours ago. That particular channel is working on the stream app. I checked my bill. No mention of FXX going ip. Yours is the only answer that makes sense.

Of course it works on the stream app...that's IP.

You're saying it tuned on the TiVo QAM Tuner 6 hours ago?

When they rolled that channel out a while back, in the 1400 channel numbers, I checked and it was IP in Houston. Maybe not there?

Definitely not here. I watched about 8 Simpsons in a row yesterday. So, after guided setups and restarts all boxes don't have FXX and my Premier has list half it's channels. Good times!!

After all is said and done I have lost FXX hd and have FXX in standard def. I don't know if this is something xfinity planned . I have a blank channel with a signal strength of 90 and an snr of 36db. Tuned:success. I don't know what this can be.

I just checked it here in Philly burbs and it’s working on Comcast. You may want to check the list of IP migration planned channels someone posted here to see if FXX is one.

Again I have FXX in standard def. If a channel goes ip the sd and hd go, correct?

Actually, no. There's a lot of channels where comcast has made the HD version IP only, but left the SD version on linear QAM. Probably because nuking the SD channel doesn't save them anything of worth.

There's also been a couple of cases where something... weird has happened. Let's take a hypothetical channel, BobTV. BobTV has always been broadcast in SD on channels 123 and 1234. Then, BobTVHD comes along, and they put it on 1234, as IP only. And you feel likely you've lost BobTV, because 1234 no longer tunes, but you still have it in SD on 123. And you'd swear it was in HD all along, but it actually never was, because all BobTV carries is reruns of old shows that were never actually HD.

I'm not disputing the notion you've lost a HD channel. I'm just saying, the above has happened...

They wind up getting this fixed? Going from "not tuned" to "tuned, strong signal, blank screen" makes me think the headend hosed something.

No it is not fixed. I have settled for SD FXX. I cancelled an appointment. Didnt want some guy tearing up my bedroom and living room for one channel. I did ask that they check everything up to the house, never heard back. I left some harsh feedback on a survey and they did call me about it. My biggest issue is how impossible they make it to speak to someone and by the time you get someone you are ready to kill. They told me to press 9 instead of 0. Maybe it was #. I would be happy with scheduling a call back but this AI they have just hangs up.

I have gotten some emails from upper level ppl at Comcast. After a couple days of telling them exactly what was happening, all 3 boxes got FXX back. No tech. Headend problem. I appreciated the attention from Comcast

So. Comcast called me 20 minutes ago. Some upper level tech or maybe customer service. He began saying there was no headend problem . I kinda interrupted him and said all was well. He went on to read the report and I guess they sent some signals reauthorizing the card. St one point as he was reading he used the phrase " depending on the age of the TiVo". Anyway this should close this chapter unless something similar happens again.
