    Hopefully it's not a bad MoCA chip in the Mini, but even that's workable if the Mini's Ethernet port still functions.

    For example:

    Quick follow up question... the Mini I bought was used... in order for it to work to I need to let Tivo know it's mine now. That ownership has changed? (the serial was already registered)

    So that may be the solution to all my problems? Thanks

    Nope.
    ... or maybe. Who knows, at this point.

    The difference in appearance between your C33 error dialog and how it looks on my up-to-date TE3 Mini makes me think your box definitely needs a software update.

    Well how do i do an update if I can't get to the update screen? Bypass the MoCA network and try the Ethernet connection?

    Yup. (That's why I quoted that 2nd troubleshooting suggestion, which mentions trying an Ethernet connection, rather than MoCA, to see how far it takes you.)

    Both of the suggested troubleshooting steps are still worthwhile, but I'd prioritize the temporary Ethernet connection for the Mini given what appears to be severely out-of-date software.

    OK... i was able to have success via Ethernet. I did an update but when selecting MoCA it ended up at the same error screen. (an updated one)
    Thinking more about this.. since i had success connecting the Mini to router, could I add another router where the Mini is going to be and connect that way?

    If you don't have Ethernet where the Mini will be how would you connect another router? And if you do have an Ethernet cable going to the Mini location you wouldn't need another router. Either way, you don't want to use another router as that would only complicate things. You could however, use something like a NETGEAR Wi-Fi Range Extender EX3700 to provide an Ethernet connection via WiFi if you have a good WiFi signal there.

    So what software version is the Mini now running?

    And how far did you get in the Mini setup while still connected via Ethernet? Were you able to select your BOLT and view live and recorded programming? If not, I'd recommend getting the Mini fully functional via Ethernet (view live and recorded programming from the DVR), before returning to the MoCA portion of the suggested troubleshooting steps.

    Or a router configured in Wireless Bridge Mode. (oops)

    But talk of wireless is premature, as there's no good reason (yet demonstrated/proven) why the Mini couldn't connect via MoCA, or, worst case, why a MoCA adapter couldn't work as a stand-in should the Mini's built-in MoCA chip be non-functional.

    p.s. This statement doesn't provide any detail on how/where the Mini was physically connected when the MoCA connection was attempted;

    ... and a screenshot of the updated error dialog would be useful.

    I got all the way to watching what was on my DVR or living TV. I would say that was all the way.
