At one point I was even using the TiVo remote from the Nero Liquid TV. It took a bit to remap the controls to work in Media Center, but otherwise there are cheap Media Center remotes out there.

Lots of ways to control Media Center as well as any other PC apps via remote control. A Media Center remote and IR receiver is by far the quickest and easiest as it's simply plug and play. There are quite a few different makes and models available.

If you want more control then consider an IR receiver with your favorite universal remote and a front end app like EventGhost. You can map any set of remote commands to control Media Center and all of your favorite Windows apps. You can even configure it to work with X-10 modules for controlling lights and just about anything else in your home.

I have a logitech remote that works great. Just select Media center in the software setup and you're ready to go.
